IEEE Society Sections within IEEE Access

IEEE Society Sections within IEEE Access are collections of articles that focus on an IEEE Society’s fields of interest, and are grouped together on IEEE Xplore. Article submissions will be processed by a topically focused Associate Editor from that IEEE Society. These sections are a permanent feature of IEEE Access and will be open for submissions continuously.

Any researcher who is specialized in the IEEE Society field can submit an article to the section. Articles submitted to these sections require the same submission and acceptance criteria, and undergo the same rigorous peer review process as regular articles submitted to IEEE Access. During article submission on the IEEE Author Portal, authors should select the relevant IEEE Society Section from the pull-down menu of “Manuscript type” in the first page of the submission process.

How to Submit an Article to a Section

1

During the article submission process on the IEEE Author Portal, the first question authors will be asked is “What kind of manuscript are you submitting?”.

2

There will be a dropdown list with all of the section options.

3

Select the relevant section you would like to submit to. If you are not interested in submitting to a section, you should pick “Regular Manuscript.”

4

If the editors managing the section decide your article does not fit the scope of their section, the article will be returned to draft and you will have the option to resubmit to another relevant section, or you can submit the article as a “Regular Manuscript”.
