IEEE Access is a multidisciplinary, online-only, gold fully open access journal. We continuously present the results of original research or development across all IEEE fields of interest. Guided by the IEEE Mission to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity, we offer authors a trusted publishing platform with a global reach. IEEE Access uses a binary decision process which means that authors receive an accept or reject decision with constructive feedback that they can utilize to improve their manuscript.

Supported by article processing charges (APCs), our hallmarks are a rapid peer review, a submission-to-publication time of 4 to 6 weeks, and articles that are freely available to all readers.

The current Editor-in-Chief is Professor Mehrdad Saif.

In 2023, IEEE Access Celebrated 10 Years of Quality Open Access Publishing. Over the past ten years, the journal has published some of the most groundbreaking research in electrical and electronics engineering and computer science.

Broad Scope

IEEE Access publishes articles that are of high interest to readers: original, technically correct, and clearly presented. The scope of this journal comprises all IEEE fields of interest, emphasizing:

Multidisciplinary topics, or applications-oriented articles that do not fit within the scope of IEEE’s traditional journals.

Applied engineering articles discussing new experiments or measurement techniques, interesting solutions to engineering, including negative results.

Development of new or improved fabrication or manufacturing techniques.

Traditional research articles.

Reviews or surveys of new or evolving fields aimed at increasing others’ understanding of these emerging topics.
