Video Integration

IEEE Access encourages the submission of video with article submissions. Video can be used to fully communicate your research, where text and graphics are not enough; it can also be used to showcase your work.

When you submit supplemental material, such as a video, with your article submission, it will be posted on IEEE Xplore under the tab “media” with your published article. Typically, the most downloaded articles in IEEE Access have video.

Videos may be simulations, experimental demonstrations, or interviews with the authors or other experts, for example.  They should provide a brief synopsis of the article’s content, be in English, and be appropriate for journal publication.

Authors are also encouraged to submit a graphical abstract to overlay the video on the abstract page. You can find information on how to develop a graphical abstract in the IEEE Author Center. As you create your video, pay attention to:

  1. Presentation of Technical Content
  2. Innovation
  3. Quality of Video

We have included many tips for producing your video in the IEEE Author Center.

File Size Specifications

The file size should not exceed 100 MB for optimal viewing on IEEE Xplore. For additional information on creating videos, please see the IEEE Author Center.

Video Format

Videos may be .mp4 (MPEG-4), .mov (Apple Quicktime), or .avi (Microsoft audio-video interleaved) formats. Please note that Power Point presentations must be converted into a video file before submission.
