Junchi Yan is currently a full Professor and Vice Dean with School of Artificial Intelligence, and an affiliated professor with School of Computer Science, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, which he joined in 2018 as an Associate Professor. He was a Research Staff Member with IBM in 2011-2018 and an affiliated researcher with AWS AI Lab in 2019-2022. His research interests are machine learning and its applications. He served as (Senior) Area Chairs for ICML/ICLR/NeurIPS/CVPR/ECCV/ACL/SIGKDD etc, and (Senior) Associate/Action Editor for JMLR/TMLR, IEEE TPAMI/TNNLS/TEVC/CIM/ACCESS, ACM TOPML and PRJ. He is an IAPR Fellow and ICML Board Member. He received the IEEE-CS AI’10 to Watch, IEEE-CIS Outstanding Early Career and an IEEE Xplorer Featured Author. He serves as the program co-chair for ACM Multimedia 2026.
