Remigiusz Wisniewski is Professor and Head of the Division of Information Systems and Cybersecurity (Institute of Control & Computation Engineering) at the University of Zielona Góra, Poland. He received his B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the University of Zielona Góra in 2001, 2003 and 2008, respectively. In 2018 he obtained a D.Sc. degree (habilitation) in computer science from the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland. From 1999 to 2002 he was with Aldec Inc. (Henderson, NV, USA), where he conducted specialized trainings for companies, such as Xilinx (San Jose, CA, USA), Intel (Austin, TX, USA). In 2001 he conducted presentations for Aldec Inc. at DAC and DATE conferences (Las Vegas, NV, USA and Munich, Germany, respectively).
His research interests include Petri nets, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), including dynamic partial reconfiguration of FPGAs, modeling, design, and analysis of the cyber-physical systems, manufacturing systems and concurrent control systems, and cryptography. He is the author of over 150 peer-reviewed research papers, book chapters, and books.
In 2022 Prof. Wisniewski was awarded (individual prize) by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the significant scientific achievements. He currently serves as an Editor for the premier journals such as IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems, IEEE Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, and IEEE Access, where in July 2019 he was chosen as an Associate Editor of the Month.
