Fei Chen (M’12–SM’15) received his Ph.D. in control theory and control engineering from Nankai University, China, in 2009. He currently holds the position of Full Professor and serves as the assistant to the dean of the College of Artificial Intelligence at Nankai University. Before joining Nankai University, he worked as a postdoc researcher at Utah State University, USA (2009-2010), an Associate Professor at Xiamen University, China, and a Full Professor at Northeastern University, China. Additionally, he held visiting positions at the University of California, USA (2017-2018) and City University of Hong Kong, China (2008, 2013, 2016, 2024).
Dr. Chen is the first author of the book “Distributed Average Tracking in Multi-agent Systems” (Springer, 2020). He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and conferences. He was named in the World’s Top 2% Scientist Rankings (2023, 2024). His research interests include distributed control, distributed optimization, and distributed learning.
