Dr. Bora Onat
About Dr. Onat
Bora M. Onat graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Boston University in May of 1998 focusing on solid state devices and photonics. He joined Lucent Technologies Inc. and became the lead designer of high speed photodiodes for telecom applications. He joined Infinera, Inc in July 2002, where he lead the design and processing of unique planar lightwave circuits. Dr. Onat joined Sensors Unlimited (now a division of UTC) in Jan. 2004, where his responsibilities included management of epitaxial growth facility and R&D program management of multiple government contracts. While working at Sensors Unlimited, he also obtained an MBA degree from Temple University, Fox School of Business, in August 2007. Dr. Onat also served as Technical Program Manager at Princeton Lightwave Inc., where his responsibilities included R&D program management in addition to wafer and chip fabrication operations management. He has over thirty publications including technical journal articles, conference papers, a book chapter and has four awarded US patents. He has reviewed numerous articles, is a Sr. Member IEEE and was program committee member for IEEE Photonics Society for 7 years.

About Mrs. Shumard
Kimberly Shumard is a Senior Publications Editor of IEEE Access since June 2014. Kimberly received a Masters Degree for Public and Corporate Communication, and a Certificate in Public Relations from Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ. Kim also received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, with a Minor in Journalism from Monmouth University.
Prior to working at IEEE, Kim held various marketing and public relations communications positions. She worked at Radiant Resources, Inc. as a Marketing and Communication Assistant, The Kortney Rose Foundation in the role of Public Relations and Communication Coordinator, and Community Affairs and Resource Center (CARC) as a Public Relations Consultant.
About Mrs. Meyer
Margery Meyer is a Publications Editor of IEEE Access and has been with the journal since August 2013.Margery received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, from Rutgers College, Rutgers University. She also attended New York University for a Certificate in Publishing. Margery has been with the IEEE since April 1996, where she began her career working for the Proceedings of the IEEE. Since then she has helped in various capacities for Proceedings of the IEEE and IEEE Access.

About Miss Hytowitz
Rebecca Hytowitz joined IEEE Access in the summer of 2016. She graduated with a Masters Degree in Publishing from New York University in 2011 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2009 from Case Western Reserve University.
She has previously worked at World Scientific Publishing Co. as an Acquisitions Editor, SpringerNature as both an Assistant Editor and Editorial Assistant, and Penguin Random House as an Editorial Intern.
About Mr. Kempf
Patrick Kempf is a Managing Editor in the IEEE Transactions/Journals Department. He has worked on IEEE Access since its launch in May, 2013, previously in the role of Journals Coordinator. Patrick graduated from Marist College, Poughkeepsie, NY, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications (concentration in Journalism), in 2001.
Patrick has previously held positions as a reporter for the Poughkeepsie Journal, The South Bergenite, and Staten Island Advance, as well as Managing Editor for LCGC Magazine. He has held various positions within the IEEE spanning ten years.

About Ms. Katelyn Seyffart
Katelyn Seyffart is an Editorial Support and Production Assistant at IEEE. Katelyn attended Rutgers University on an academic scholarship. She graduated in May 2012 with her Bachelor of Arts in English and a Minor in Psychology.
Prior to working for IEEE, Katelyn was a private English tutor and special education paraprofessional. She interned at Columbia University Press during the fall of 2011.

About Ms. Kristen Cignavitch
Kristen Cignavitch has been a Peer Review Support Specialist for IEEE Access since 2017. She graduated from Rutgers University in 2013.
About Mrs. Falco
Kristin Falco is a Journals Coordinator in the IEEE Transactions/Journals Department. Kristin graduated from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, with joint Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Journalism and English, in 2009.
Kristin has been with the IEEE since 2009, where she began her career working as an Editorial Assistant. Since then she has held various positions in the Transactions/Journals Department including Assistant Editor and Associate Editor and has worked with various IEEE publications.
